Thomas
Louis Durroh
of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, departed this life on August 14, 2010. He
was pre-deceased by his parents, Louise Fort Dorroh and William James
Dorroh, and sister, Linda Dorroh McDonald. He is survived by his brother
William James Dorroh Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama; niece Melissa McDonald
Stoll of Auburn, Alabama; nephews William Joseph McDonald Jr. of Auburn,
Alabama, and Thomas Bryan McDonald of Destin, Florida; and his second
family, the DiPrinzios of South Walton County. He was born in Birmingham,
Alabama, July 9, 1948, and was a graduate of Shades Valley High School. He
attended Auburn University and graduated from The University of Alabama at
Birmingham and later did graduate study at Georgia State University in
Atlanta. Tom spent his career working for the Social Security
Administration and the Federal Home Loan Bank Board before retiring to
Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, where reading and golf were his hobbies. He was
a founder and winner of the Grayton Beach Open, a member of Santa Rosa
Golf and Beach Club, and enjoyed his friendships and the beaches of South
Walton County. A service of remembrance will be held at Point Washington
United Methodist Church, 1290 North County Highway 395, Santa Rosa Beach,
Florida, on Monday, August 23 at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers,
contributions may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice, 419A Racetrack N.W.,
Fort Walton Beach, Florida, 32547. |
