Janette Hatcher Gray, 66, of Crestwood, Alabama,
passed away on February 1, 2014 at Brookwood Hospital in Birmingham,
Alabama. She was born on October 14, 1947 in Birmingham to Dewey
and Mable (Butts) Hatcher. Janette grew up in Irondale, Alabama.
She graduated from Shades Valley High School in Birmingham, Alabama in
1966. Janette worked as a bookkeeper for a number of businesses
including Beaver Construction Company, Interiorscapes Inc., Loretta
Goodwin Gallery, and Portraits Inc. Janette married William (Bill) Gray
on March 29, 1969 in Birmingham, Alabama. They were happily married for
32 years. Janette was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Mable
and her husband, Bill. Janette is survived by her daughters, Jennifer
Gray of San Francisco, California and Emily Gray of Birmingham, Alabama;
her grandchildren Kal and Lilliana Avery Linder and Mila Wesson; and her
nieces and nephews and other relatives. A memorial service will be held
at Portraits Inc; 2801 6th Avenue South, Birmingham, Alabama at 11:00
am, February 8, 2014. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial
donations be made to either NPR, the American Cancer Society , or the
International Child Art Foundation. The family of Janette wishes to
thank Portraits Inc. for their loving support and continued commitment
in celebrating Janette's life.
