Cay Patterson Braswell passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014. She graduated from Shades Valley High School in 1966. In high school, Cay enjoyed being a cheerleader and a member of Kappa Gamma Sorority, where she made lifelong friends. After attending the University of Alabama, Cay was an airline stewardess for United Airlines. She then went on to become a Birmingham Real Estate Agent for over 20 years; where she was a Lifetime Million Dollar Club Member. Cay was preceded in death by her infant son, George Dwight Cornish Braswell Jr., her beloved infant daughter and her Father, Grady L. Patterson. She is survived by her mother, Ottis M. Patterson; son, Timothy G. Braswell (Heather); grandchildren, Brooks, John Thomas, and Harper Braswell; brother, Frank Patterson (Carol Anne); nephew, Frank Patterson, Jr. (Candace); niece, Amy Stuckey (Jason); and her best friend, Carla Ellis Barton. Cay will be missed by her family that loved her so much. Her Burial Service will be held at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 10:30 am. Visitation will precede the service from 9:00-10:15 am.
