Leigh
Ivey Sellers of Birmingham, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 1,
2013 from complications of lung cancer at the age of 64. To her
grandchildren, family and friends, she was affectionately known as
"Honey". Leigh attended Valleydale Church. She was the Vice President of Accounting at All Seasons Travel. She graduated from Shades Valley High School in 1966 and attended college at Memphis State University. Honey was an active part of her daughters' and grandchildren's lives. She was a compassionate and selfless mother, joyful grandmother, loving sister and gracious friend. Leigh found gratitude in every situation. Her strong will to live, faith in God and contagious smile will be remembered forever. We are so thankful for her life. Our God is truly a good and merciful God. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin M. and Dorothy Shepherd Sellers. She is survived by her daughters, Leane (Mike) Randle, Denise (fiancé Jeff Watts) Biro; grandchildren, Blake and Ivey Randle; sisters, Nancy Sellers and Virginia Davis; nephew, Hil Davis; niece, Sellers Kennington. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the oncology department at Kirkland Clinic for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jimmie Hale Mission/Jesse's Place, P.O. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 9 at 2:00 p.m. at Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood with Pastor Chuck McCammon of Valleydale Church officiating. There will be a visitation after the service. As she spoke her last words, "This is God's will. I do not have any fears. He will always be with us." she asked for the reading of Psalm 23 (KJV) Leigh lived by the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Do a loving act of kindness, make someone laugh, send a vase of flowers, give a hug, or say "I love you" to a special friend in her memory. Following the celebration of Leigh's life, the family would like to invite you to a reception at the home of Leane and Mike Randle. |
